Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care in the Medical/Surgical units, specifically focusing on Oncology, Hematology, Nephrology, Endocrine, GI, Dermatology, and General Medicine. This role involves working with a variety of patient demographics, primarily adults, and managing common diagnoses including cancer, diabetes, end-stage renal disease (ESRD), gastrointestinal issues, and abdominal pain.
Unit Information
- Unit Size: 56 beds
- Common Diagnoses: CA diagnosis, Oncology, Hematology, ESRD, Diabetes, GI, Abdominal Pain, Dermatology, General Medicine
- Specialty Equipment: IV pumps, NG tubes, chest tubes, specialty beds (sand beds)
Shift Details
Shifts are scheduled from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. While block scheduling is preferred, it is not guaranteed. Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical and Oncology nursing
- Current AHA BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- Chemo certification required
- Active NY nursing license and all RN licenses must be verified through a NURSYS report
- Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC
- Driver's license with address matching demographics
