Sr IT Testing Specialist Remote

Salary: $92,000 - 118,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in an IT-related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
• 5 to 8 years of experience in an IT environment, ideally within development or testing
• Hands-on experience with Oracle
• Working knowledge of Spring Boot
• Working knowledge of Java
• Experience with OpenShift
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and core testing principles
• Proven ability to create and run test cases
• Solid grasp of business workflows and system capabilities under test
• Ability to understand both current-state and future-state business processes
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak effectively with both business and technical audiences
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and general PC skills
• Experience with test management and automation tools such as Selenium, Robotium, TestComplete, QTP, SoapUI, Visual Studio Test Pro, Appium, JMeter, Jenkins, TestLink, Mantis, Postman, and Firebug
• Ability to write moderately complex SQL queries to retrieve data
• Ability to interpret logical and physical data models and table relationships
• Ability to define data requirements for testing efforts
• Ability to execute automated test scripts
• Ability to read system input and output files such as XML, flat files, 834, and 835 formats
• Ability to design unique test scenarios
• Preferred: experience in domains such as healthcare or financial services
• Preferred: experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models

• Lead and provide technical direction to testing teams across multiple functions
• Create test artifacts such as strategies, plans, and test cases
• Perform hands-on testing for internally developed and externally purchased solutions
• Carry out system, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Set up and run job streams to build test environments as needed
• Design test scenarios, author test scripts, execute tests, and track defects
• Validate that applications satisfy approved system requirements
• Work with IT partners to review requirements, test strategy, design, and defect resolution
• Recommend usability and functionality improvements that can be incorporated into business processes
• Define a risk-based test approach, including scope, dependencies, constraints, environments, priorities, and scheduling
• Ensure end-to-end testing practices are followed with complete documentation
• Configure software and hardware in the test lab according to specifications
• Verify that test results are accurate, complete, and properly recorded
• Communicate outcomes and coordinate testing logistics with analysts, developers, and leadership
• Document defects and results that do not match expectations
• Perform quality assurance checks and analyze test outcomes in detail
• Certify applications for movement to the next testing phase or production release
• Produce and distribute periodic testing status reports
• Develop and run complex scripts independently
• Prepare test data environments that match specific conditions
• Write and execute moderately complex SQL queries
• Run automated test scripts
• Coordinate defect fixes, handoffs, and retesting
• Provide guidance to other IT testing specialists when needed
• Participate in requirements-gathering sessions and clarify incomplete requirements
• Help facilitate and coordinate user acceptance testing
• Design tests that support learning and risk reduction
• Partner with developers to build automated tests
• Work with business analysts and stakeholders on exploratory testing
• Ensure user stories include clear acceptance test conditions
• Support the product owner in defining acceptance criteria for user stories
• Contribute knowledge of performance and security vulnerability testing when applicable
