Senior Engineer - Hardware & Firmware Development
Orthofix
Orthofix seeks a senior engineer to develop hardware and firmware for bone growth and tissue regeneration medical devices. The role involves electromagnetic and ultrasound exposure optimization, circuit design, firmware implementation, and machine learning-based motion assessment systems.
Responsibilities
- Optimize electromagnetic and ultrasound exposure using computer simulation software
- Implement electrical and mechanical designs for optimized exposure devices
- Design and deploy automated test systems for exposure applications
- Develop firmware to operate and interface with exposure systems
- Create machine vision and machine learning systems for patient motion assessment
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years as electrical engineer or firmware developer
- Proficiency in C#.Net and Python programming languages
- Experience with SEMCAD or SIM4Life simulation software
- Ability to design and layout circuit boards
- Windows and Linux platform development capability
- Familiarity with Azure and Docker
