This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, precision measurement, and ensuring that every product meets strict customer and industry standards.Schedule available: 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) Monday-FridayWhat You'll DoAs a Quality Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of test specimens used in high-stakes industries.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Inspect test specimens and materials to ensure compliance with customer specifications, drawings, and industry standardsPerform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, rulers, and other metrology toolsRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and inspection criteriaIdentify, document, and communicate nonconforming materials or deviationsApprove or reject finished specimens based on established quality requirementsRecord inspection and test data accurately in reports and quality systemsCollaborate with production, engineering, and testing teams to resolve quality issuesMaintain accuracy, traceability, and attention to detail in all documentationSupport continuous improvement efforts within the quality systemWhat We're Looking ForQualifications and Skills:US Citizenship is strictly required for national defense and aerospace complianceHigh school diploma or GED requiredStrong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques preferredExperience working with blueprints preferredStrong math and technical skillsAbility to prioritize and multi-taskStrong attention to detailStrong organizational skillsStrong time management skillsThe ability to work independently as well as in a team environmentAbility to stand, sit, or move around for prolonged periods of timePreferred / Highly Valued Experience:Experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, machining, or materials testing environmentsFamiliarity with blueprints, engineering drawings, or GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)Hands-on experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)Understanding of quality control principles, inspection procedures, or ISO/AS9100 environmentsExperience documenting inspection results or working with quality management systems (QMS)Benefits Offered:401(k) with a company matchMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsurancePaid Time OffPaid HolidaysLife Insurance and AD&DWestmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer committed to recruit, hire, train, and promote in all job categories without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or other status protected by applicable law.
