Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification, GRH CPI/MOAB Must-Have: EPIC EMR Experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months. Basic dysrhythmia knowledge with a successful test out required. Description: Delivers care to patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinates care with other health team members. Effectively interacts with patients and significant others while maintaining high professional nursing standards. Provides high quality care to various patient populations, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, psychiatric, and telemetry. Estimates work week is 36 hours, with every other weekend and holiday rotation required. Telemetry ratios are 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Med/Surg ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. Responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. May float to other non-critical care inpatient units, including behavioral health and emergency department. If the traveler has critical care experience, floating may include the CCU or ICU. While not part of a regular call rotation, may occasionally be placed on call during low census periods. If called in, the traveler is expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour.
