Quality Inspector II

Quality Inspector IIDPP is seeking a Quality Inspector II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry. Work location: Goleta, CA Duration: 12 months Terms: W2 Contract Work Authorization: US Citizen Position summary:The Quality Inspector II will perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, load tests. etc.) on mechanical, electrical or structural components or systems to ensure conformance with the quality requirements for spacecraft components and associated systems. This position will join the Deployables Operating Unit.Responsibilities:Use predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products.Perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, and functional, etc.) on spacecraft components.Use various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, pin gages, and Coordinate Measuring Machine.This job has decision-making responsibilities with regards to the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed.Inspect and perform tests on mechanical, electrical, or structural components and assemblies related to spacecraft components and sub-assemblies. Inspections vary from close tolerance dimensional checks to general surveillance of the work in progress.Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.Work from drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions.Required qualifications:High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or direct experience in a quality assurance or inspection roleExperience utilizing various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, gages, pin gages, and other inspection toolsKnowledge of GD&T with the ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, Specifications and related criteriaUS Citizenship requiredAerospace experienceFamiliar with Microsoft applicationsKnowledge of dimensional inspection and receiving inspectionPreferred qualifications:Strong Computer skillsGood written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective resultsExperience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads.Experience in Aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies.Cable harness assembly experienceCMM programming experienceFamiliar with optical comparatorsSolder certifiedDP Professionals (DPP) offers a range of compensation and benefits packages to our employees and their eligible dependents.
