Foundry Manufacturing Engineer Atlanta

OVERVIEW:An established organization with a large market presence in manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a facility located in the southwest region of the Atlanta, GA metropolitan area. The company is investing significantly in new equipment. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing manufacturing processes, analyzing equipment layout, workflow, and workforce utilization, in addition to identifying the necessary tools and parts to meet manufacturing objectives in accordance with product specifications. The role offers competitive benefits, bonus potential, and a 401k with a 100% match up to 5%. Standard working hours are 8-5, with potential for up to 45-50 hours per week.RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilize 2D & 3D software such as SolidWorks to design production tooling.Implement productivity enhancements for current production lines.Conduct root cause analysis using statistical methods and recommend design, tolerance, or processing improvements.Design and implement production processes for new products and modifications to existing products.Perform FMEA's on new and existing products, evaluating designs, materials, or processes.Review product designs to optimize manufacturability and processing.Collaborate in cross-functional teams to ensure efficient productivity methods.Lead experiments in design, lean manufacturing, ROIA, etc.Facilitate design review meetings for new and existing products.Develop work instructions, statement of work, spare parts inventories, and critical parts inventories.Integrate automation, robotics, vision systems, controls, and other manufacturing equipment.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Proficiency in 3D modeling software (specifically Solid Works) and Microsoft Office.Prior experience in tooling, project management, and automation, including robotics and PLCs.Background as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing setting.Industry experience with preference for zinc or high-pressure aluminum die casting, stamping, finishing, plating, or plastic injection molding.Desired experience in a foundry environment.Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.SKILLS:Teamwork/Ethics: Demonstrates integrity, teamwork, and open communication to achieve team goals; Fosters a positive team spirit; Treats others with respect and inspires trust.Quality/Quantity/Quality Management: Strives for quality and efficiency in work; Monitors performance and seeks to improve continuously.Communication: Communicates effectively and professionally in various situations; Listens actively and conveys information clearly.Judgment/Problem Solving/Analytical Thinking: Demonstrates sound judgment and analytical skills; Identifies and resolves issues promptly; Utilizes data and experience to make informed decisions.Professionalism: Interacts with others tactfully and responsibly; Takes ownership and follows through on commitments.Customer Service: - Manages customer interactions effectively and seeks feedback for improvement.Organizational Support: Adheres to policies and contributes to organizational goals; Supports diversity and affirmative action.Safety/Security/6S: Observes safety protocols and guidelines; Maintains a safe work environment.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (The physical requirements necessary to perform job functions, with accommodations available based on reasonable need.)While on duty, the employee must stand, walk, sit, converse, and occasionally reach with hands/arms.
