About Our Health System:We are an integrated community health improvement organization serving 29 counties across the Appalachian Highlands in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Northwest North Carolina, and Southeast Kentucky. Our system comprises 21 hospitals, post-acute care, behavioral health services, and a large multi-specialty physician practice that collaborates closely with an active independent medical community and local stakeholders to enhance the health and well-being of nearly one million individuals. By leading in the adoption of value-based payments, addressing health-related social needs, funding clinical and health systems research, and committing to long-term investments in families and children in our region, we aim to set a national standard for rural health and healthcare.
Note for International Medical Graduates (IMGs): Please be aware that recent legislation in Tennessee regarding the licensure of International Medical Graduates applies only to institutions with ACGME-accredited residency programs based in Tennessee. Since our residency programs are located in Virginia, we are unable to facilitate the pathways provided by this specific Tennessee legislation. IMGs interested in these new state-specific opportunities are encouraged to focus their search on Tennessee-based academic institutions.
