Principal Frontend Software EngineerAtlassian is looking for a Principal Frontend Software Engineer to design, build, evolve and maintain our web frontend systems and tools in order to deliver great experiences to our users.To become a 100-year company, we need a world-class engineering organization made up of empowered teams who have the tools and infrastructure to do the best work of their careers.As part of a unified R&D team, Engineering is prioritizing key initiatives which support our customers in moving to cloud while simultaneously continuing to bring the most value to our customers through investments across our core product suite – including Jira, Confluence, Trello, and Bitbucket.We're looking for people who want to write the future and who believe that we can accomplish so much more together.In this role, you will:Build high-performing client code that is fast, testable, scalable, and high qualityPlan, design, build, and implement scalable user interface systems that delight usersCollaborate closely with other engineers, designers and managers to understand user pain points and iterate on great solutionsLead code reviews and documentation, and take on complex bug fixesDrive the success of projects, from the technical design, implementation, and launch to operationOnboard and mentor other engineersYour background:8+ years experience with Javascript (ES6), HTML5, CSS and experience with modern Javascript frameworks (e.g., React, AngularJS, Vue).Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience).Understanding of modern frontend ecosystem, including but not limited to bundling, linting, testing and releasing.Extensive experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Mocha, Chai).Strong comfortability with the JavaScript language and ecosystem.Experience building frontend applications at scale.Experience in Agile software development methodologies.You strive to write code that lasts for years, not months.Experience engineering software systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity.Experience mentoring more junior engineers.Atlassian offers a wide range of perks and benefits designed to support you, your family and to help you engage with your local community.
