A career at Ballard Spahr offers a diverse group of mentors, colleagues, and friends, and strong leadership that provides support and encouragement for career growth.The Cloud Security Administrator is responsible for assisting the Information Security Manager in supporting day-to-day operations associated with securing the firm’s cloud presence, including but not limited to collaborating with the rest of the Information Security team, our Managed Security Services Provider, Networking, Innovations (DevOps), and other groups both in and outside the IT Department that manage cloud solutions to ensure security controls are appropriately configured and maintained. The Cloud Security Administrator would also be performing audits of firm cloud systems, participating in incident response, and assisting with client security audits.This is a remote position, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday.Why Join Us?Innovative Work Environment: Become part of a forward-thinking firm that enjoys substantial support and visibility from the firm’s executive leadership.Professional Development: Take advantage of continuous learning opportunities and avenues for career growth.Inclusion: Join a Business Resource Group and share cultural, experiential, or job-related interests, experiences, and/or backgrounds.Impactful Contributions: Play a pivotal role in developing industry-leading solutions that make a significant difference in legal practice and client service.Your Role:As a Cloud Security Administrator within our Information Technology – Security team you will:Ensure proper employment of security solutions including, but not limited to, Cloud Security Posture Management, SIEM, and other cloud security settings working with appropriate Information Services functions as requiredHelp teams securely deploy resources in our cloud environmentAdminister cloud-based privilege access and conduct regular access reviewsImplement and monitor cloud-based security baselines and controlsMonitor Security Posture of firm cloud-based resources - Proactively review security events via the firm’s SIEM solution and security dashboards - Monitor resources to identify and respond to vulnerabilities and anomalous activityWork with DevOps to monitor/maintain/improve the security posture of their code and pipelinesParticipate in incident response as part of the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT)Assist with audits and questionnairesBe part of a call tree to handle incidents that may arise after hoursWhat We’re Looking For:Growth Mindset: Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and problem-solving.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.Required Experience:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or a closely related field3-5 years of relevant experience (CISSP helpful)Demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft cloud technologies (i.e. Azure, o365, etc.)Excellent analytical, troubleshooting & interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skillsThe targeted salary range for this position is from $105,000 – $125,000, which reflects the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.
