Maintenance Worker I (2nd Shift)

Position Title: Maintenance Worker I (2nd Shift) Job Description Perform all duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor/Manager/Director. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Identify deficiencies and deviations from maintenance schedules and standards and perform inspections and inspection tests of equipment and buildings. Perform general repairs/maintenance, including minor plumbing and electrical repairs. Assist other mechanical maintenance tradesmen as directed. Operate light or heavy equipment and maintain equipment and tools. Assist with snow removal as needed. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Provide overtime if required. Maintain good hygiene and cleanliness at all times. Adhere to the company uniform policy. Maintain a clean vehicle and report maintenance issues to the office. Follow rules and regulations as described in the company handbook. Job Requirements High school diploma or GED and 0-3 years of experience required. Ability to read, write and follow directions. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling and general repairs. Three or more years of experience in a specific trade preferred (e.g., plumbing, electrical). Familiarity with and adherence to all safety rules and regulations for the University Safety Policy. Considerable physical activity required. Heavy physical work: heavy lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work comprises more than 70% of the job. Capability to lift and carry heavy items up and down stairs. Capacity to spend significant time outside in all weather conditions. Exposure to potentially hazardous materials and situations requiring protective equipment and safety precautions. Salary, Hours & Benefits Minimum Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour. Full time – 40 hours per week, including weekends. Shift schedule: Monday – Friday, 3p.m. to 11:30p.m. (2nd Shift). Full-time position with annual, holiday and sick leave.
