Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years in cardiac telemetry nursing required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 1 year of EPIC experience required Must have experience with blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, and central line care/management. Description: The role involves providing comprehensive quality nursing care and telemetry monitoring for patients with cardiovascular conditions. The focus is on the care of heart failure patients. Nursing care includes continuous EKG monitoring and oxygen saturation monitoring via telemetry. Administration of specific intravenous and oral medications that treat cardiac conditions and arrhythmias is required. The role also involves preparing and sending patients for cardiac interventions, surgeries, diagnostic tests, and other procedures. RNs will provide holistic care to meet the physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and cultural needs of each patient and their family. Weekend coverage is expected every other week, though this may change based on need. Floating to other units may be required based on census needs. The unit consists of a 32-bed capacity with a focus on adult and geriatric patient populations. Daily census typically includes a full complement of patients. Interdisciplinary support includes various medical and therapeutic teams.
