Accountant

A growing manufacturing company is seeking an Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this individual will play a central role in the day-to-day accounting operations of the business, with broad ownership across the full accounting cycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable function, including invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, payment runs, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
• Oversee accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, cash application, collections follow-up, and aging report management
• Own end-to-end payroll processing for the company, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Perform intercompany accounting across entities, including transaction recording, reconciliations, and elimination entries in preparation for consolidated reporting
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, prepaid amortization, and fixed asset tracking
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are properly supported and variances are identified and resolved promptly
• Produce accurate and timely financial reports for senior leadership, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries
• Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts, and provide variance analysis comparing actuals to plan
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, pulling documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries
• Monitor and maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies, identifying areas where controls can be strengthened
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and other departments to ensure proper cost accounting treatment and accurate reporting of manufacturing activity
• Identify and drive process improvements across accounting workflows to increase efficiency and reduce risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with ERP systems; exposure to manufacturing-specific platforms a plus
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment
