Development Quality Engineer I

Abbott seeks a Development Quality Engineer I in Sylmar, California to ensure device and combination product requirements through standard operating procedures and product lifecycle management. The role focuses on data analysis, quality assurance, and process improvement within cardiac rhythm technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, analyze, and interpret data using quantitative analysis and machine learning techniques
• Develop analysis plans to address key business questions and communicate findings to management
• Work with cross-functional teams to devise test methodologies and validate data models
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities throughout data and process lifecycles
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and site procedures; support internal and external audits

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, or physical sciences; or equivalent education and work experience
• 1-2 years experience in pacing industry with quality background preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and personal computer applications for data analysis
• Knowledge of FDA, QSR, and ISO regulations; design controls and statistical techniques
• Experience with database applications and programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R preferred
• Ability to work in cross-functional, matrixed, and geographically diverse environments
