Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Every Other Weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), a critical care step-down setting serving adult acute care patients requiring more specialized monitoring than a general medical-surgical floor
• Manage continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy, including peripheral line care and management; care for patients with arterial lines, central lines, and titrated medicated IV infusions
• Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, and acute BIPAP support
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activations as needed
• Maintain isolation precautions and adapt care plans using a multidisciplinary approach for patients arriving from the ED, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license required — must be in hand at time of submission; no exceptions
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required — must be included at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Ability to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio in a MedSurg/step-down environment
• EPIC electronic health record experience is a hard requirement
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients requiring arterial lines, central lines, or titrated IV medication infusions
• Background in a tertiary care or high-acuity hospital environment
• Familiarity with step-down or intermediate care unit workflows and multidisciplinary team collaboration
