Position GI Hospitalist, Assistant/Associate Professor, Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology (184408) Location: Stony Brook, New York Type: Full‑Time Category: Physicians Description Stony Brook University School of Medicine invites applications for a full‑time GI Hospitalist faculty position in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The role is a full‑time inpatient GI hospitalist at Stony Brook University Hospital, a 603‑bed tertiary care center in Suffolk County. The position includes 24 inpatient GI consult weeks (Monday‑Friday only) per year with minimal weekend and night coverage. The inpatient team comprises gastroenterology fellows and advanced practice providers. There are no outpatient responsibilities. The GI Division boasts a highly trained faculty of 12 specialists, 13 outstanding fellows, and a dedicated support team of skilled nurses, endoscopy technicians, and advanced practice providers. The medical center includes a large hospital‑based endoscopy unit with dedicated time for inpatient procedures, as well as an ambulatory care pavilion on campus. Responsibilities Provide inpatient GI consults during scheduled weeks. Collaborate with fellows and advanced practice providers. Perform a variety of endoscopic procedures as required. Qualifications MD (or foreign equivalent). Board Certified in Internal Medicine, BC/BE in Gastroenterology. Experience in clinical care and teaching. Skilled in a variety of endoscopic procedures. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the gastroenterological care of patients admitted to the hospital. Special Notes Tenure/Non‑Tenure Track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
