About This Role
Heyward St Preschool, located in downtown Columbia, is seeking an experienced assistant director. Responsibilities include daily operation of preschool to include interacting with families, children, and staff, facilitation of accurate files and data, and marketing of HSP on social media platforms. HSP offers a competitive hourly rate while also providing paid time off, matching retirement, and retention bonuses. HSP is affiliated with Heyward St United Methodist Church and offers high quality childcare for affordable rates. We have an A score for ABC Quality and are SCDSS licensed.
What You'll Do
Daily operation of preschool facility in partnership with director.
Substitute in classroom as needed.
Communicate professionally and knowledgeably with staff, families, and students.
Develop communication for social media.
Maintain clear, organized files for students and staff.
Coordinate enrichment events such as fall festival, art day, or friendsgiving
Host tours for prospective families.
Requirements
Must have experience in SCDSS licensed childcare center.
Experience in an ABC Quality childcare center, preferred.
Pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate
Completion of ECD 101 or CDA, preferred.
Career Ladder with SC Endeavors
Nice To Haves
Experience as an assistant director.
ECD 101, 102 or two year degree in Child Development
Four year college degree
Experience with marketing, communication, or branding.
