About the Position

Job Title: Telemetry RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Telemetry and rhythm interpretation skills Experience with titrating drips, including Cardizem and Amiodarone Description: Unit consists of two areas with a total of 56 beds. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5 during days and 1:6 during nights. Common diagnoses include respiratory issues, observation pending stress tests, COPD, CIWA, and chest pain. Patient care techs are available on the unit with a ratio of 1:17. Their duties include assisting with feeding, blood glucose checks, bathing, toileting, and lab assistance. RNs are required to troubleshoot respiratory equipment but will call respiratory for support when needed. Telemonitoring is virtual, and RNs must interpret their own rhythms and confirm documentation. Requests for scheduling can be made, and attempts will be made to accommodate them. Weekend shifts are required, equating to 5-6 shifts every 6 weeks. Holidays are required based on assigned teams. Floating to various campuses may be required. Navy blue scrubs are the standard dress code for nurses.
