Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN

St. David's Medical Center, part of St. David's HealthCare, is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a PRN opportunity within our Healthcare & Medical Services department in central Austin. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will deliver high‑quality respiratory care to diverse adult and, when needed, pediatric populations in a full‑service hospital setting known for its excellence in neurology, cardiac services, and robotic surgery. In this role, you will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, implement and adjust treatment plans, and administer therapies such as oxygen, bronchodilators, chest physiotherapy, and airway clearance techniques in accordance with physician orders and evidence‑based protocols. You will initiate, manage, and monitor invasive and non‑invasive mechanical ventilation, provide support during codes and rapid responses, and assist with complex procedures including intubations and bronchoscopy support as appropriate to your scope of practice. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to develop patient‑centered plans of care, contribute to interdisciplinary rounds, and communicate changes in patient status in a timely and accurate manner. You will be responsible for accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and quality and safety initiatives.
