Summary

The Field HEOR Scientist is a field-based position within the US Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) organization. The role engages Access organizations and decision-makers within the assigned territory, combining HEOR expertise with knowledge of U.S. healthcare system business models to deliver impactful data supporting medication access decision-making. Responsibilities include servicing large integrated delivery networks, institutions, community oncology customers, and key payer accounts in the Southeast region (FL, AL, GA, TN, SC, NC, VA).

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical engagement with key access customers in a field-facing role and conduct health economics and outcomes research as part of a cross-functional Cell Therapy matrix team.
• Collaborate on the development and implementation of the U.S. HEOR strategy, plans, and research.
• Link science and data to the business needs of customers and provide compliant solutions.
• Work closely with home office HEOR/medical teams to develop, interpret, and disseminate data assessing the medical value of BMS assets, executing all phases of the research process.
• Inform research strategy to ensure BMS answers key questions in the health care marketplace, driven by direct payer insights and in collaboration with the home office medical matrix team.
• Lead HEOR for specific therapeutic areas.
• Concentrate field-facing activities on specific accounts, including regional managed care accounts and key integrated delivery networks, to facilitate appropriate patient access, medical policy, coverage, and reimbursement for all BMS portfolio assets.
• Develop sustainable customer relationships and discuss comprehensive scientific, health economic, epidemiology, and quality of life information.
• Partner closely with Cell Therapy Account Managers, Heme/Onc National Account Executives, and home office matrix teams.

Qualifications

• Advanced graduate degree required: PhD, PharmD, MS, or MPH with an emphasis in health services research, health economics research, public health, health services, or related field.
• A master’s level degree considered if specific to health economics or outcomes research, with appropriate clinical background and years of experience.
• Minimum ten years of previous work experience in the pharmaceutical, managed care, or consulting industries, primarily focused on Market Access with experience conducting HEOR in all stages of the research process.
• Experience in Cell Therapy preferred; oncology/hematology experience a plus.
• Demonstrated expertise in health economics and outcomes research, including a publication list.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and make recommendations concerning the evolving U.S. healthcare marketplace and comparative effectiveness research.
• Proven ability to build customer relationships.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• High level of business acumen, leadership, and customer focus; ability to perform independently with minimal supervision.
• Seen as subject‑matter expert by access matrix colleagues.
• Ability to translate insights into scientific opportunities for research and shape BMS strategy.
• Flexibility to travel, with a requirement to drive a company‑provided vehicle and maintain a safe driving history.

Compensation Overview

Field – United States – $211,880 – $256,748
Starting compensation is based on required skills and experience. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final compensation is determined by demonstrated experience.

Work‑Life Benefits

• Paid Time Off for U.S. exempt employees—unlimited time off with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (excluding Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico, Rayzebio). Non‑exempt and hourly employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays.
