About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to play a pivotal role in the execution of its ambitious transformation agenda. The COO will be the senior executive responsible for system-wide operational strategy, performance, and integration, ensuring that the operational foundation supports the organization's vision of being a trusted, connected, and transformative academic health system. This includes leading the operational integration of academic medical centers and community hospitals, overseeing operational standards, and establishing accountability structures for consistent operational excellence. The successful candidate will work closely with the executive team to align operational performance with the mission and strategic vision, and will be instrumental in the development and implementation of operational strategies to improve patient access, throughput, and care coordination. Applicants for the COO position at the company must have a Master’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in a complex healthcare system. The role requires a strong understanding of hospital operations, nursing operations, and enterprise performance management, as well as a proven track record in leading operational transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a background in an integrated delivery system or multi-hospital regional health system, and experience with value-based care models and enterprise operating model transformation. Key attributes include an enterprise mindset, execution-oriented leadership, high integrity, and a collaborative style capable of influencing across a federated system. The COO will be expected to have strong financial acumen, the ability to improve operational performance through data-driven management, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
