Sr. Accountant

Location: Argo Plant, Bedford Park, IL. Workplace Type: Hybrid. Title: Senior Accountant – U.S./Canada F&II Plants. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly spend accrual entries in various account subgroups across multiple plants. Prepare monthly variance analysis reports comparing actuals vs forecast for production and manufacturing expenses. Work cross‑functionally to prepare monthly forecasts and periodic budgets (fixed and variable costs). Prepare yield information each month and analyze data for reasonability; collaborate with operations to improve calculation accuracy. Assist in physical inventory counts/reconciliations as required. Lead preparation, analysis and adjustment of supplies and packaging inventory/consumption; support BOM maintenance. Prepare key entries for inventory/consumption, analysis and reporting of resin used in sweetener manufacturing. Prepare monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure internal control policies are followed. Assist in process reviews and lead implementation of improvements across plant operations. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with all units and functional managers. Assist and guide audit/SOX data requests. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred or equivalent experience). Minimum 2+ years of relevant accounting experience. Consistent accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Strong business acumen and ability to translate financial information into business context. Proven problem‑solving skills and drive for process improvement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with various levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially intermediate/advanced Excel.
