Laboratory Analyst - Mycology - Eurofins Built Environment Testing, Phoenix, AZ

Job Description Eurofins Built Environment Testing is seeking a Laboratory Analyst in our Mycology department. The Analyst performs analysis of non‑culturable surface and air samples for fungi, prepares and analyzes environmental samples according to scientific methodology in compliance with company Quality Assurance programs and SOPs, and must be knowledgeable of both job‑specific routine and complex analyses. The analyst validates and reviews data for accuracy, uploads laboratory data into the LIMS that generates required reports to clients, schedules sample workload according to due dates and sample hold times, and uses job‑specific laboratory testing equipment. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze aerobiological, environmental, and water samples for fungal analysis Enter and report analytical data accurately using the LIMS Perform independent data reviews of other analysts’ work Analyze reference materials, proficiency samples, and other quality control samples as needed Maintain client service and provide technical support as needed Assist the QA manager in developing, implementing, and collecting data for QA processes Confirm lab results as needed by client services personnel Perform all analytical testing QA related tasks as required Assist in pursuing, receiving, and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations Maintain and update all necessary Training and QA documents onsite as required Coordinate and manage projects by priority and due dates for timely delivery Assist co‑workers with analytical questions, as necessary Participate in Lean initiatives and projects when called upon Follow company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do the same Secondary Duties Manage and maintain inventory of re‑sale supply items and laboratory consumables, re‑ordering supplies as needed Disposal of analyzed samples as required Train new mycology, bacteriology, asbestos, or other analytical testing analysts as needed Recommend and coordinate sample transfers as necessary Establish and maintain laboratory stock culture and reference samples Perform root cause analysis, determine, and implement corrective actions for errors and issues as needed Maintain and coordinate servicing of all laboratory equipment Communicate available capacity to the Regional Manager regularly Support other departments within the lab when appropriate and as needed Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Supervisor/Manager Qualifications 1–2 years of laboratory work experience involving mold and/or asbestos microscopy analysis (preferred) Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, or a closely related science (required) 8 units of Microbiology courses (preferred) Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking Compensation and Benefits Compensation: $21.00–$25.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Position is full‑time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with the possibility of overtime and weekends.
