Job Function:

The Director of Nursing (DoN) assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the community. In collaboration with the Executive Director and Medical Director, allocates department resources efficiently and economically to enable each patient to attain or maintain the highest physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. The DoN collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations to develop, support, and coordinate patient care. The DoN is directly responsible to the Executive Director for the overall coordination and execution of nursing services and for monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of nursing care. The DoN shall be available whenever a client has needs requiring professional nursing skills. As determined by the Medical Director, the DoN shall meet with a client when indicated by diagnosis, needs of the client at the time of admission, or expressed general health concerns of a client. The DoN shall conduct weekly medication and physician order reviews and provide client and staff education as necessary. The DoN shall monitor infection control data, be a member of the Performance Improvement/Infection Control Team and administer the TB test for staff members and patients.

Essential Functions:

? Ensure delivery of compassionate quality care and supervision to nursing staff.

? Participates in recruitment and hiring of nursing personnel.

? Assess patients for admission and perform routine ongoing nursing assessments.

? Ensure that nursing staff remains in compliance with company policies and procedures.

? Develop and implement an organized nursing system for care deliver by coordinating nursing services with other departments.

? Support the nursing staff and perform all direct care nursing duties when necessary.

? Promotes, establishes, and maintains relationships with patients, families, staff, community,and other professionals.

? Knowledge of state regulations and the ability to implement and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

? Evaluates the work performance of all nursing staff and be responsible for any disciplinary actions of nursing personnel.

? Prepare for site visits from licensing and accrediting agencies.

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

? Holds a current license as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.

? Have a minimum of three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.

? Previous experience in a healthcare/rehab setting preferred.

? Knowledge of and experience with substance use disorder (SUD) preferred.

? Ability to be flexible with work schedule according to the needs of ICGH.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

? Managerial experience and competence are preferred.

? Must be computer literate and be familiar with most Microsoft products and network components.

? Familiar and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).

? Good communication and teaching skills.

? Good writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

? Ability to operate standard office equipment.
