Description

American Traveler is hiring a Vascular Sonographer with 2+ years of ultrasound experience in general/abdomen, non-high-risk OB/GYN, and vascular imaging for a 13-week Days assignment.

Details

• Ultrasound department performing general, OB/GYN, and vascular imaging
• Patient population includes general, OB/GYN, and vascular cases
• Average of 15 scans per day
• Procedures include abdomen/RUQ with liver vessel evaluation, kidneys and bladder, transabdominal and transvaginal pelvic imaging, 1st trimester OB, testicle/scrotum evaluation, DVT/venous evaluation of arms and legs, ABIs, thyroid, aorta, and carotid studies
• Limited 2nd/3rd trimester OB scans including BPPs, measurements, and fluid checks
• Days shift, 5x8s Monday-Friday, start times vary between 0600-1000 based on staffing/cases, 40 hrs/week
• On-call coverage Monday-Friday 9pm-6am, rotating among day staff
• Weekend call coverage as needed from 630pm-6am
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Minimum of 24 months experience as a Sonographer/Vascular Technologist required
• Experience in general/abdomen imaging required
• Experience in non-high-risk OB/GYN imaging required
• Experience in vascular imaging required
• ARDMS (AB) certification required
• ARDMS (RVT) certification highly preferred
• ARDMS (OB/GYN) certification highly preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• License required if applicable
• First-time travelers accepted if they have 2+ years of ultrasound experience

Additional Information

• Perform abdomen/RUQ with liver vessel evaluation, kidneys and bladder, pelvic imaging, 1st trimester OB, testicle/scrotum evaluation, DVT/venous evaluation, ABIs, thyroid, aorta, and carotid duplex studies
• Experience assisting with fine needle aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis procedures preferred but not required
• Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming Winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) unless the unit is closed
• Limited time-off requests around the Thanksgiving and Winter holiday periods
• Must live 50+ miles from the facility to be eligible for the position
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN) may be restricted from travel assignments at other UPH facilities within 12 months of separation
