BMT/Cell Therapy Clinical Faculty

Our organization is in search of a distinguished full-time Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to become a part of the esteemed Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) and Cellular Therapy Program at our leading medical center. This role involves delivering comprehensive care to adult patients undergoing blood and marrow transplantation , hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT) , CAR-T , and various other cellular therapies within a dynamic, multidisciplinary setting.

This position presents an exceptional chance to join a top-tier academic medical institution dedicated to clinical excellence, innovation, and pioneering research in BMT, cellular therapy, and malignant hematology.

The BMT Program at our center is recognized as one of the largest, most advanced, and research-oriented programs both in the state and nationwide.

Program Highlights:
  • Over 200 adult BMT procedures are conducted each year, establishing this as one of Michigan's largest and most experienced programs.
  • A dedicated multidisciplinary BMT team comprising physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and transplant coordinators focuses exclusively on stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy.
  • Care is tailored and collaboratively managed , with the entire care team meeting multiple times weekly to review each patient's progress.
  • Fully accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Hematopoietic Cell Therapy (FACT) .
  • Recognized by the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) and the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) .
  • A national leader in research , particularly in the investigation and treatment of graft-vs.-host disease (GVHD) , enhancing the safety and effectiveness of BMT for all patients.
  • Robust basic, translational, and clinical research infrastructure that supports innovative therapies and clinical trials.
Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outpatient care through 8 half-day clinical sessions weekly , with 2 half-days reserved for educational, research, and administrative duties.
  • Lead and engage in inpatient BMT and cellular therapy services , scheduled in one-week intervals.
  • Oversee HCT and CAR-T patients, ensuring detailed patient flow and care coordination.
  • Participate in the development and execution of clinical trials .
  • Educate and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
