About the Role:

The Receiving Associate plays a critical role in the efficient operation of our warehouse and supply chain processes by managing the receipt and inspection of incoming goods. This position ensures that all shipments are accurately checked against purchase orders and delivery documents to maintain inventory integrity. The Receiving Associate is responsible for organizing and storing products in designated areas, facilitating smooth downstream operations such as order fulfillment and inventory management. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent errors and maintain a safe working environment. Ultimately, this role supports the overall success of the company by ensuring that inventory is accurately accounted for and readily available for production or distribution.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math and reading skills to verify shipment details and complete documentation.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items safely, typically up to 50 pounds.
• Familiarity with warehouse safety standards and procedures.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using inventory management software or warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with suppliers, drivers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of items against purchase orders and delivery manifests.
• Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate department.
• Accurately record received items into the inventory management system and organize products in designated storage locations.
• Maintain a clean and safe receiving area by following established safety guidelines and warehouse procedures.
• Collaborate with warehouse team members and other departments to ensure timely processing and movement of inventory.

Skills:

The Receiving Associate uses attention to detail daily to verify shipment contents and identify any discrepancies or damages, ensuring inventory accuracy. Organizational skills are essential for efficiently sorting and storing products in the correct locations to maintain warehouse order. Physical stamina and safe material handling techniques are applied regularly to unload shipments and move goods without injury. Communication skills facilitate effective collaboration with team members and reporting of issues to supervisors or other departments.
