The Housekeeper / Laundry Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility while supporting laundry operations to ensure the availability of clean linens and textiles. This cross-functional position performs housekeeping and laundry duties as assigned and may rotate between departments based on operational needs. The role requires attention to detail, efficiency, teamwork, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor toward customers, clients, and co-workers.
• Maintains all assigned ancillary and department areas and corridors in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner, to protect safety and health of others and in compliance with accurate preventative maintenance procedures as outlined in department policy.
• Inspects and uses judgment in determining which cleaning techniques outlined in orientation guidelines to follow.
• Demonstrates efficient and safe use of housekeeping equipment and solutions as observed by supervisor.
• May disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides and sterilizing equipment.
• Diligently employs universal precautions when disposing of trash and bio-hazardous materials.
• Keeps cart properly stocked with equipment and cleaning supplies; ensures all chemicals are accurately labeled, and all equipment is in good working condition.
• Promotes effective interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships, maintains professional conduct at all times.
• Assists in improving productivity and efficient operations of the department.
• Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence by adherence to component and departmental training commitments.

Laundry Functions

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, uniforms, and other textiles.
• Responsible for quality control. Ensure linens meet the quality expectations designated by specific customers.
• Any questions or issues should be referred to the lead or supervisor.
• Identifies each linen distribution cart with proper labels and tags, covering all linen carts prior to transport.
• Fold and store linen to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Maintain laundry production standards and workflow requirements.
• Store and distribute clean linens to operational departments.
• Inform the lead or supervisor on par level or quantity of supplies.
• Responsible for cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of work area.

Cross-Functional Responsibilities

• Assist housekeeping or laundry departments during staffing shortages, peak periods, or operational demands.
• Maintain productivity standards while delivering high-quality service.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and OSHA requirements.
• Support a positive team environment through effective communication and cooperation.
• Ensure all work areas remain organized, safe, and customer-focused.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, laundry, hospitality, healthcare, or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning and laundry equipment safely.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, senior management, and Aramark support staff
• Ability to respond effectively to changing demands

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
