Infusion Pump Tech - Biomedical (Pharmacy Technicians recommended)

Position Overview

The Biomedical Technician maintains, calibrates and repairs company and customer infusion pumps, as well as ensures that all biomedical equipment is in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality control standards.

Position Requirements

· Registered Pharmacy Technician.

· Comfortable with technology.

· Quick learner.

· Attention to detail and ability to multitask.

· Highly organized.

· Can lift 50+ lbs.

· Strong verbal communication in English.

· Strong professional and moral ethic.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Clean/disinfect infusion pumps according to manufacturer specifications.

2. Perform preventative maintenance (PM), and safety inspections on biomedical equipment.

3. With minimal supervision, evaluate biomedical equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs.

4. Follow appropriate policies, procedures and protocols and complete necessary documentation.

5. Maintain daily communications with Director of Clinical Operations and operational teams, to ensure resolution and proper follow-up of equipment demands and customer satisfaction concerns.

6. Work as a member of the team by assisting other team members on basic and complex repairs, when needed.

7. Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule set by management.

8. Ensure proper care of tools and test equipment, as well as maintain scheduled calibration.

9. Maintain approved parts inventory.

10. Perform light warehousing duties including receiving and shipping of infusion pumps.

11. Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding the safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.

12. Additional certifications/training, as needed, per management requirements

13. Study technical manuals and attend training sessions provided by equipment manufacturers to maintain current knowledge.

14. Travel and onsite work may be required.

1. Ensure compliance with the organization's Code of Conduct and all applicable laws, including HIPAA regulations for the protection of sensitive information.

16. Perform any additional duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and organization.
