Job Opportunity

Position Purpose

The role involves coordinating and implementing individualized care plans for patients using the nursing process. The successful candidate will practice within their scope, adhering to the standards, policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

Position-Specific Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on assessments to optimize outcomes and utilize resources effectively.
Utilize prioritization skills and critical thinking to make decisive judgments while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Follow guidelines for triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation.
Employ evidence-based practices in collaboration with the healthcare team to achieve quality outcomes and coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support.
Identify barriers to effective communication considering psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural factors.
Assess the learning needs of patients and families, providing tailored education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Delegate patient care effectively to ancillary personnel and may precept student nurses and new hires.
Adhere to professional and ethical standards in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics and nursing regulations.
Demonstrate compassion and build therapeutic relationships, engaging in appropriate patient and family education.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.
Follow all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

At least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver's license).
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Successful completion of a background check.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
Completion of an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.

Education, Licensure, and Certifications

Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or a Compact license - Required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or to be obtained within 90 days of hire) - Required.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or to be obtained within 6 months of hire) - Required.
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification (or to be obtained within 1 year of hire) - Required.
Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification (or to be obtained within 1 year of hire) - Required.
Current STABLE certification (or to be obtained within 1 year of hire) - Required.
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (or to be obtained within 1 year of hire) - Required.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field - Preferred.

Experience

Two years of hospital nursing experience - Preferred.
One year of Emergency Department (ED) or Critical Care Nursing experience - Preferred.
