Associate Attorney - Personal Injury and Worker's Comp

Gould Injury Law is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our team in New Haven, CT. This position offers the opportunity to handle a diverse caseload of plaintiff-side personal injury and workers' compensation matters while working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment focused on maximizing outcomes for injured clients.

We are looking for a lawyer who is ambitious, detail-oriented, and eager to develop as an injury attorney and advocate. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of experience as an injury lawyer and is comfortable managing cases from intake through resolution with appropriate supervision and support.

This position is ideal for an attorney who wants meaningful courtroom experience, increasing responsibility, and a long-term opportunity to grow within a rapidly expanding plaintiff's practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of plaintiff personal injury and workers' compensation files
• Conduct client meetings and maintain strong client communication
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and demand packages
• Take and defend depositions
• Attend court appearances, mediations, hearings, and workers' compensation proceedings
• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel
• Work closely with case managers, paralegals, and support staff to move cases efficiently
• Participate in case strategy discussions and firm training programs

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Connecticut
• 2–5 years of experience in litigation, personal injury, workers' compensation, or a related practice area
• Strong writing, advocacy, and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and growth mindset
