Hampton Inn Lexington Medical Center Maintenance Technician

Job Requirements of the Maintenance Technician:

• Technical competencies
  • HVAC: PTAC units are the workhorse in select service — cleaning, coil and filter service, capacitor and thermostat replacement, unit swaps
  • Basic plumbing: toilets, faucets, valves, drain clearing, water heaters
  • Basic electrical: outlets, switches, lighting, GFCI, breaker resets
  • Carpentry and finishes: drywall patch, paint and touch-up, door hardware, furniture repair, flooring
  • Appliance and equipment repair: microwaves, mini-fridges, commercial laundry equipment
  • Pool and spa: chemical testing, balancing, filtration, logging
  • Life safety: fire panel familiarity, extinguisher and sprinkler inspection logs, emergency lighting, elevator logs
  • Preventive maintenance: executing scheduled guest room PM cycles and completing brand QA-related work orders
• Other
  • Guest-facing professionalism and discretion when entering occupied guest rooms; response time matters given the Hampton guarantee
  • Compliance with OSHA, lockout/tagout, chemical handling and SDS, and bloodborne pathogen procedures
  • Basic literacy with work order systems and mobile apps for logging PM

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education and experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–2 years of hands-on maintenance experience — hotel preferred, but multifamily/apartment, facilities, or general trades background transfers well.
  • Prior Hilton or franchised-brand experience is a plus, not a requirement
• Physical requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance
  • Climb ladders, work at heights, access roof and mechanical spaces
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for the full shift
  • Work in varying temperatures, indoors and outdoors

• Schedule and availability

• Weekends, holidays, and early mornings

• On-call rotation and after-hours emergency response
