A stable civil defense and subrogation boutique is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a senior litigation attorney in its Downtown Los Angeles office.

This is a high-responsibility role managing a large and active litigation desk, requiring strong organizational skills, litigation knowledge, and the ability to independently manage deadlines and filings. The role supports one senior attorney and provides additional assistance to two other attorneys.

The firm handles Fortune 500 client matters in civil litigation and insurance-related disputes, with a steady and structured workflow.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a high-volume civil litigation caseload (60-70 active matters)
• Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents
• Independently handle California state and federal e-filings
• Prepare discovery shells (Interrogatories, RFPs, RFAs)
• Maintain litigation calendars and track deadlines
• Schedule hearings, depositions, and appearances
• Coordinate communication with clients, counsel, and courts
• Assist with mediation and trial preparation
• Provide executive-level calendar and administrative support

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of legal assistant or litigation support experience
• Strong understanding of California civil litigation procedures
• Experience supporting senior litigation attorneys preferred
• Proven ability to manage heavy caseloads and competing deadlines
• High level of professionalism and organizational ability
• Must be fully onsite in Downtown Los Angeles

Compensation:

• $90,000 - $110,000
