Job Overview The Associate Visual Designer is responsible for the creation of provocative and engaging visual solutions for in-store marketing campaigns and collateral. The Associate Visual Designer is an imaginative, fast thinking, conceptual designer with experience in branding and fashion. Essential Functions Create original designs for in-store, vendor and in department merchandising techniques and maintain design standards throughout all collateral Assist in design and development of visual concepts for special projects, in department merchandising concepts and seasonal campaigns Research and stay on trend with the latest cutting edge ideas and design, in fashion, materials, typography, illustrators and culture Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects and collaborate with internal and external team members Qualifications And Competencies Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university 1-2 years related experience Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs Physical Requirements Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs This job description is not all inclusive; additionally, Macy’s, Inc. reserves the right to amend this job description at any time.
