Position Overview The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results-oriented individual to serve as a Permanency Specialist Floater. Under general supervision, this position will provide professional child welfare casework services to children and families, determine the need and coordinate placement of children in substitute care facilities, and conduct interviews with clients and professionals to obtain information for diagnosing problems and developing treatment plans. The role offers the opportunity to help ensure the safety and stability of children and youth in Illinois. Essential Functions Serve as a Permanency Specialist Floater for the sub-region offices in a floater capacity. Work with intact families and children in home and/or substitute care. Conduct interviews with clients and professionals to obtain information for diagnosis and treatment plan development. Transport clients when taking protective custody, placing them in substitute care, or changing placement location. Prepare and maintain case documentation for planning, implementing, and evaluating services. Participate in case staffing to facilitate case transfer. Participate in multidisciplinary diagnostic and technical staff conferences to assess needed services. Perform other duties as required or assigned within scope of duties.
