Testing Services Administrator

Administers professional testing services in a secure and continuously monitored environment following industry standards to maintain testing integrity and security.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES These requirements are a representation of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as an exhaustive list of specific duties and responsibilities. Management may direct employees to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

1. Prepares and maintains a safe, secure, and comfortable test environment before, during, and after daily testing.
2. Follows state law, internal policies, vendor guidelines, and national standards related to security procedures and test administration.
3. Administers and proctors group and individual test sessions to support student achievement through college placement, program admission/exit, industry certification, developmental education, career assessment, distance learning, and other areas as assigned.
4. Actively monitors examinees through direct observation, surveillance equipment, and computer software.
5. Administers appropriate American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant test accommodations as needed.
6. Operates and monitors testing equipment including computer hardware, software, printers, and surveillance equipment.
7. Processes testing requests and monitors the online appointment system.
8. Demonstrates an understanding and respect for a diverse student population.
9. Reviews testing guidelines, policies, and instructions with examinees.
10. Maintains the security and distribution of testing materials and supplies (e.g., LCD boards, pencils, and calculators).
11. Reports all testing irregularities to the Director, Testing Services.
12. Interprets test scores, enters data into the student record system, and prepares testing records, databases, files, and reports as needed.
13. Maintains confidentiality of testing materials and examinee records while adhering to College policies, vendor guidelines, state law, and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
14. Keeps testing and policy manuals up to date.
15. Assists the Director in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of testing services offered by the department.
16. Conducts testing services off campus and in district as needed to support College programs and activities.
17. Performs a variety of clerical and other duties as assigned including general office coverage.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution with one year of testing center experience OR
• Standard High School Diploma with three years of test center experience OR
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Ability to effectively troubleshoot routine technical errors and common computer-based testing issues.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate technical data, as well as to collaborate effectively with technical staff to support test center hardware, software, and exam delivery systems.
• Knowledge of computer software management and the ability to perform technical and security updates.
• Ability to accurately collect, input, and analyze data in institutional information systems.
• Proficiency in using cloud-based productivity software.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent computer skills with the ability to troubleshoot routine problems.
• Knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and equipment.
• Ability to work evening hours and some weekends.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain a current valid Florida driver license and reliable transportation.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS

Possess or complete assigned test vendor training and achieve related certifications within the 90-day probationary period, including, but not limited to:

• Pearson VUE Certified Test Administrator
• ACCUPLACER Certificate of Test Administration
• FDOE Policies on TABE Assessment Certification
• ATI Proctor Certification
• Cambium Assessment Test Administrator Certificate
• Other certifications as needed to support testing operations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• None

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience in testing services
• Prior experience in a post-secondary educational setting
