Assistant Actuary - IR Pricing & Product Development

Who You’ll Work With This role interacts with product development and modeling teams at the outset of projects, then shifts to working with teams on assumption and rate setting implementation. About The Role This role focuses on pricing and development of innovative annuity products. You will research and design annuities across the Life & Retirement suite, implement assumptions, and determine risk/reward profiles through robust analysis. The work starts with baseline pricing to assess feasibility, then moves to sophisticated pricing model analysis. Responsibilities Price new annuity products, balancing profitability, marketability, and risk. Collaborate with product development and product management to optimize pricing with design. Perform model testing to ensure new products are implemented correctly. Produce analysis that achieves buy‑in from finance and risk partners on pricing outcomes. Support the development and testing of assumptions for new products. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or other quantitative field. 5+ years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience with Life & Retirement Insurance products. Associate of the Society of Actuaries with goal of attaining FSA designation. Highly detail‑oriented with strong analytical problem‑solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Access and Excel. Programming skill in SAS, Visual Basic, SQL, or C++ preferred. Experience with modeling software preferred. Compensation Anticipated base salary range: $110,000 to $115,000 at commencement. Salary depends on location, skills, experience, and other factors. Eligible for discretionary bonus per incentive plan. Work Location Base office: Houston. Subject to hybrid policy. May also be located in Woodland Hills, CA or Jersey City, NJ. Estimated Travel Up to 25% travel may be required. Benefit Offerings Include Health and Wellness: Medical, dental, vision, mental health support and wellness initiatives. Retirement Savings: 401(k) with up to 6% matching plus 3% company contribution, vesting immediately. Employee Assistance Program: Confidential counseling services.
