Position Overview Servers are responsible for ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction and providing an outstanding customer experience. Duties include taking food and drink orders, writing them down on order slips, ensuring tables are served properly, and collecting all payments. This seasonal role is full-time or part-time and reports to the Food Service Manager. Responsibilities Welcome customers and lead them to their seats Introduce our menus and describe different dishes and drinks Make recommendations on specialties, take orders, and deliver orders to the table promptly Adhere to food, sanitary, and safety standards Inspect the quality and looks of the dishes, making sure they uphold standards Identify and resolve any special requirements, wants, and needs of customers Handle complaints Deliver checks and accept payment Collaborate closely with other staff members Assist with preparation of takeout orders Education / Training / Experience Two years of experience as waitstaff or similar role preferred Knowledge of cash register and any ordering information system High School Diploma or GED, preferred State Food Handler’s Certification, required Qualifications / Requirements Basic computer skills Positive, engaging personality, strong work ethic, and professional appearance Excellent communication, customer service, and problem‑solving skills Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment Strong work ethic and a positive attitude Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays Work with minimal supervision Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with customers, clients, vendors, coworkers, and management Essential Physical Demands Able to lift up to 50 lbs Must be able to remain in a stationary position, occasionally in warm temperatures Constant exposure to hot equipment and oil throughout the workday Continuously climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl Able to manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to reach, carry, serve, etc. Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Northgate provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
