Job Overview We offer a merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial in-person training, this entry-level claims trainee role may allow up to 3 days of remote work per week. Auto‑Owners Insurance, a top-rated carrier, is seeking a motivated claims trainee to handle entry-level insurance claims under close supervision throughout the claim lifecycle. Responsibilities include investigation, evaluation, and claim resolution, ensuring accurate and timely outcomes. Key Responsibilities Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims. Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to develop foundational knowledge of Auto‑Owners products. Learn and comply with company claim‑handling procedures. Develop entry-level claim negotiation and settlement skills. Serve agents, insureds, and other stakeholders effectively. Meet and communicate with claimants, legal counsel, and third parties. Estimate losses and use computer-based programs for loss adjustment. Obtain and maintain adjuster’s license(s) if required, within the timeline established by the company. Desired Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in property/casualty claims handling. Ability to organize data, multi-task, and make decisions independently. Above-average written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write reports and compose correspondence. Problem‑solving skills for complex issues. Maintain confidentiality and data security. Comfortable working with a diverse group of individuals. Accurate financial calculations (geometry, unit costs, finance documents). Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
