Department: 02190 AMG Mount Pleasant Green Bay Road - Immediate Care Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 36 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Monday through Friday: 2:45 PM to 10:30 PM One weekend per month: Saturday and Sunday 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM When scheduled for a weekend: The Friday before the weekend is off and the Friday after the weekend is off. Two holidays per year are required. Pay Range: $21.85 - $32.80 Job Description Summary: Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. Medical Assistants must adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. They are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion during all interactions. Where You Will Work: Aurora Urgent Care offers in-person care for a variety of minor illnesses and injuries that are needed immediate attention but aren't an emergency. Our walk-in clinic is open for extended hours, making it a convenient option to get care after hours or if you can't get in to see your primary care provider. We're Looking For: High School Diploma or GED required. Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify. Phlebotomy skills are preferred. What You'll Do: As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day. Welcome patients and support their transition into care. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings. Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures. Administer medications and vaccines as directed. Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing. Document care accurately in the electronic health record. Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions. Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines. Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed. May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing may be required. Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
