How you'll contribute
An Assessment Lead who excels in this role will:
- Facilitates response to request for services, including the initial response, the assessment and referral process, the designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services and appropriate follow up activity
- Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documenting patient symptomology, functioning, needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination
- Demonstrates excellent customer serviced skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner
- Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA
- Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy, completes all per-certification with insurance companies
- Ensures appropriate staffing for shift
- Minimizes use of overtime
- Assists in monitoring attendance
- Educates and coaches staff and acts as a point person for clinical decisions
- Reports all issues and incidents to the Director appropriately
- Ensures staff has completed all needed documentation, call logging, insurance calls, and additional tasks prior to the end of shift

What we're looking for Applicants should have an Associate's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Social Work/Counseling (Required). Additional requirements include:
- Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred. Must have strong clinical assessment skills.
- Current clinical, social work or RN license as required by state regulations.
- CPR and De-escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire
