Job Title

Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (LDRP)

Location

Sacramento, CA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM start) | Onsite | Every other weekend required; holiday rotation with staff

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across all phases of the LDRP unit, including labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (couplet care)
• Circulate C-sections and manage high-risk obstetric patients including preterm labor, bleeding, inductions, hypertension, and cesarean sections
• Titrate drips including Pitocin and manage patients throughout the full continuum of care from admission to discharge
• Read and interpret EKG strips for mothers in PACU; monitor patients using GE Corometric/Fetalink EFM surveillance system
• Fulfill NRP/Baby Catcher role as assigned for the full shift when needed
• Float to other Sacramento-area facilities as required; mid-shift float to another facility is rare but possible

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced certifications required
• Ability to circulate C-sections; all RNs on this unit are required to perform this function
• Ability to float to Mother-Baby unit as needed
• Comfortable working in a high-risk OB environment and managing all aspects of LDRP care
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips (required for PACU patients)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• STABLE certification preferred
• Prior experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit (unit delivers approximately 140–165 births per month)
• Familiarity with GE Corometric monitoring systems and Fetalink fetal surveillance
