Teacher, CTE HS Tech Ed. Engineering/Advanced Manufacturing Location: Charlotte, North Carolina. Job ID: 5803934. Starting Date: Immediately. Position Type: Full-time. Summary Under general direction of a principal, provides leadership in an educational environment that encourages and nurtures learning for all students. Provides supervision to students in a variety of school‑related settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, develops, selects or modifies lesson plans to meet all student needs, and maintains appropriate records following all policies and procedures of NCDPI and CMS. Provides quality standards‑based instruction in Information Technology/Civil and Industrial Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing; assesses and encourages student progress, manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement. Essential Duties Demonstrates and teaches Information Technology in a classroom setting using detailed drawings that include project specifications and cost estimates. Designs and executes engineering experiments to create workable solutions. Develops engineering calculations, diagrams, and technical reports. Conducts ongoing assessment of student growth and progress in Information Technology activities and modifies instructional methods to fit students’ individual needs. Participates in professional development to stay knowledgeable of current developments in the Information Technology field, including seminars, workshops, and professional learning communities. Prepares instructional materials aligned with curriculum standards, maintains equipment and supplies, and keeps inventory records per district policies. Works with staff and post‑secondary institutions to develop and maintain career pathways preparing students for apprenticeship, certification, community college, or university degree programs. Coordinates CTE Student Organization activities for local, regional, state, and national competition. Attends District PLC meetings as scheduled. Works with employers and community groups to promote and advance technical skills. Creates an instructional environment conducive to students’ intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents; meets with students and parents. Maintains complete and accurate student academic, attendance, and disciplinary records; monitors and assesses academic progress. Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, para‑educators, parents, and community members in the education of students. Instructs and demonstrates proper safety practices, procedures, and standards. Collaborates in identification, development, implementation, and coordination of work study arrangements. Demonstrates techniques to students individually and in groups, helping them complete lessons, assignments, projects, activities, and evaluations. Provides students with clear expectations, continual feedback, and logical consequences. Provides students opportunities to expand their skills and knowledge base. Participates in field trips to post‑secondary institutes, worksites, businesses, and hands‑on workshops. Manages inventory control including purchasing materials, supplies, equipment, and tools. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications Residency License: Required: Bachelor’s Degree. Additionally, 24 credit hours in the content area OR passing the NC SBE Licensure Area Exam, and completion of NCSBE Pre‑service Requirements and enrollment in EPP. CTE Restricted License: Required: Bachelor’s. Required Years of Work Experience (CTE Restricted route): 2 years within past 5 years. Examples of Related Work Experience: Manufacturing industry experience; cabinetmaking/woodworking industry; electronics industry experience; metals manufacturing experience. Licensing/Certification Requirements: Technology Engineering and Design Education 820 License (via Praxis Exam) or Technology Education – Project Lead The Way Endorsement (6‑12), obtained before July 1, 2018.
