About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to play a pivotal role in the strategic transformation of its financial operations. The successful candidate will be a high-impact, transformative leader with a focus on overhauling legacy workflows and guiding a talented team through significant cultural and technological shifts. This role demands a unique player-coach who can seamlessly transition between high-level fiscal strategy and the detailed mechanics of automation, with a strong emphasis on integrating sophisticated tools, sharpening internal controls, and mentoring staff to ensure the accounting function is not only keeping pace with growth but actively accelerating it. Applicants for the CAO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a CPA, and at least 10 years' of accounting experience, ideally with a background that includes time in a Big 4 or large national firm, followed by significant hands-on experience in a professional, financial services, or high-growth environment. The role requires a deep, practical understanding of US GAAP, a proven track record in team management, and a proactive approach to improving general ledger structures and accounting workflows. The CAO will be responsible for all accounting operations, including the month-end close process, financial reporting, and the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements. They must also be adept at working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools, and possess the interpersonal skills necessary to engage with all levels of the organization.
