We are committed to delivering high-quality products through precision, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Quality Control Inspector to join our team and help ensure every product leaving our facility meets customer specifications and company quality standards.Position SummaryThe Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting and verifying product quality throughout all stages of the manufacturing process, including CNC cutting, forming, fabrication, welding, painting, and final inspection. This position ensures that materials, components, and finished products comply with engineering drawings, customer specifications, dimensional tolerances, and Top Metal Solutions quality standards while helping prevent nonconforming products from reaching the customer.ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, specifications, and welding symbols.Perform incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections.Conduct dimensional inspections using tape measures, calipers (vernier), squares, angle gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.Verify first article inspections before production runs begin.Inspect fabricated components, welded assemblies, and finished products throughout the manufacturing process.Verify dimensions, tolerances, alignment, squareness, fit-up, and assembly quality.Perform visual weld inspections to identify defects such as porosity, undercut, cracks, lack of fusion, excessive spatter, and other weld discontinuities.Verify paint quality, coating coverage, and surface finishes according to customer and company specifications.Maintain material identification and product traceability throughout production.Complete inspection reports and quality documentation accurately.Perform final inspections before packaging and shipment.Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials and products.Stop or contain nonconforming products until disposition is determined.Ensure measuring equipment is properly maintained and removed from service if damaged or out of calibration.Work closely with Production, Welding, Engineering, and Management to resolve quality issues.Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and manufacturing standards.Maintain inspection records and quality documentation in accordance with company procedures.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.Bilingual (English & Spanish) required.1-3 years of Quality Control inspection experience in metal fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or a related industry.Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication practices.Experience using tape measures in both imperial and metric systems.Experience using calipers (vernier), squares, angle gauges, and other dimensional measuring tools.Ability to convert decimal measurements to fractions.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality deviations.Good communication and documentation skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and quality documentation systems).Ability to work independently and make objective quality decisions.Preferred QualificationsExperience in structural steel or custom metal fabrication.Basic knowledge of AWS welding standards.Experience with material traceability and quality documentation.Previous experience in industrial manufacturing environments.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work safely around manufacturing equipment.Ability to work in a manufacturing environment exposed to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.Why Join Top Metal Solutions?Competitive hourly pay based on experience.Stable full-time employment.Overtime opportunities.Career growth and advancement opportunities.Work on custom commercial and industrial fabrication projects.Collaborative team environment focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
