RN - Pediatrics
The Pediatric PeriAnesthesia Unit is a 10-bed pediatric preoperative and postoperative unit with an additional 4-bed Pediatric Surgical Observation Unit (PSOU). The PSOU provides specialized postoperative care for pediatric patients requiring overnight observation or an extended recovery (up to 23 hours) following surgery. 13 weeks nights every other weekend, every other holiday. Can approve 40 hours for time off. ACLS, BLS, and PALS required. Can submit with VA license pending. 50 mile radius rule.
The unit provides comprehensive, family-centered care from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery and surgical observation. Nurses collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgery, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver individualized care, perform ongoing assessments, manage pain and recovery, provide patient and family education, and coordinate safe discharge planning.
Caring for pediatric surgical patients requires strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional care while creating a safe, compassionate, and supportive experience for every child and family.
