DutiesHelpIn small work groups must plan and layout work in making major and operating repairs of all engine room machinery and auxiliary equipment.Accomplish repairs, such as replacing bearings, repairing fuel lines, grinding valves, replacing cylinders, pistons and shears in auxiliary pumps and machinery, removing and replacing complete assemblies.Preheat, braze, bevel and vee as necessary to accomplish assignments, and operate lathe and drill press in turning down shafts and bushings.Operate lathe and drill press in turning down shafts and bushings.During light debris season, incumbent may be subject to assignment on phases of productive work.Stand a shift watch and work alone without close technical supervision.
