Work Environment
This role is predominantly onsite, enabling you to engage directly with patients and collaborate closely with our healthcare team. Our work setting focuses on home care, allowing us to provide therapeutic services at patients’ residences, enhancing convenience and patient comfort. As a Physical Therapist in our outpatient orthopedic unit, you will experience a rewarding work environment equipped with advanced treatment technologies and resources that support optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations that include assessments of physical function and movement, history reviews, and individual goal setting based on evaluation findings.
- Develop tailored treatment plans that align with patient needs, focusing on evidence-based methodologies and the latest advancements in orthopedic rehabilitation.
- Implement treatment protocols efficiently while adapting to patients’ responses and progress, ensuring ongoing adjustments are made as necessary.
- Maintain thorough documentation that accurately captures patient progress, including details of initial evaluations, daily treatment notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to legal and organizational guidelines.
- Participate actively in interprofessional consultations to discuss patient care strategies and ensure continuity across various healthcare disciplines.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and recovery strategies to foster independence and self-management post-discharge.
- Participate in regular facility meetings and contribute to team discussions regarding case management and quality improvement initiatives.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will work with a diverse patient population affected by conditions involving the musculoskeletal system, including post-surgical recovery, chronic pain management, sports injuries, and arthritis care. Your expertise will play a crucial role in restoring function and alleviating pain through targeted rehabilitation strategies. You will be expected to foster relationships with patients, gaining insights into their personal challenges and aspirations, which will assist in tailoring effective care plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
- A current and valid physical therapy license in the State of Florida.
- Certification in CPR and basic life support as required by the facility.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, demonstrating proficiency in delivering physical therapy services.
- Experience in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation and patient data management.
Compensation and Benefits
This role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a robust salary, employees are also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
