• Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's tertiary care and Level II Trauma Center, housing the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients for short, mid and long term vascular access devices (VAD). Place and assist in maintaining the most appropriate VAD.
• Use of ultrasound guidance (USG) in placement of VAD.
• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Nursing Process for patients in the following age groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics.
• Documents thoroughly, following regulatory and hospital requirements.
• Participates in the responsible management of health care resources.
• Assumes responsibility for clinical competency and professional development.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Idaho or approved Compact State
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required - must be obtained within 14 days of hire
• PICC certification must be obtained within 4 months of hire
• Ability to work varied shifts
• Effective Interperonal Communication skills and demonstrated organizational skills.

Preferred Requirements:

• National Certification/Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC)
