Assistant Property Manager

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Pay - $24 – 26 hourly.
  • The starting rate is based on experience and qualifications. This position participates in our compensation program, which provides opportunities for future pay growth based on performance and career development.
  • 401(k) with a dollar-for-dollar company match up to 4%.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Property Manager with the daily operations of the apartment community.
  • Provide friendly, professional service to current and prospective residents.
  • Support leasing activities, including showing apartments, processing applications, preparing leases, and coordinating move-ins and move-outs.
  • Assist with rent collection, including follow-up on current and delinquent accounts.
  • Respond to resident questions, concerns, and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate resident, leasing, and property records.
  • Coordinate with maintenance associates to help ensure work orders, repairs, and apartment make-readies are completed promptly.
  • Assist with move-in, move-out, and routine property inspections.
  • Help ensure the community is well-maintained and meets applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Answer phones, respond to emails, greet visitors, and maintain an organized and professional office environment.
  • Support marketing and leasing efforts, including advertising available apartments.
  • Maintain positive relationships and open communication with residents to support satisfaction and retention.
  • Assist with vendor relationships and coordinate contractor work as needed.
  • Perform data entry, filing, recordkeeping, and other administrative duties.

What Makes You Successful

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service, sales, leasing, or a related field.
  • Property management or real estate experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused attitude with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic understanding of leasing procedures and property management principles preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn property management software.
  • Ability to work effectively with residents, prospective residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow associates.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent walking and standing, as well as the ability to bend, stoop, sit, stand, and reach. Associates must be able to use proper body mechanics and lifting techniques to occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
